Zeta Potential Analysers Stability Monitors Agrochemical Stability

Zeta Potential Analysers from MALVERN INSTRUMENTS

Zetasizer Nano Series from Malvern Instruments capable of measuring the Zeta Potential of Particles using a patented M3 and Second Generation PALS combination, providing unequally precision in the measurement of Zeta Potential, particularly low Zeta Potentials, and at high salt concentrations. Measures Zeta Potential in a disposable cell, reducing the possibility of errors caused by fouling of the cell and electrodes (Yes, the electrodes are disposable too!) The accepted rule of thumb is that any particle field which exhibits a Zeta Potential of greater than 30mV is likely to result in a stable formulation. So, the measurement of Zeta Potential can be a predictive tool which formulators can use for any suspension or emulsion.

Stability Monitors from FORMULACTION

Product stability was very difficult to monitor, historically being done by shelf tests, which are often not complete before a product reaches the market. Formulaction developed the Turbiscan system for monitoring sedimentation, flocculation, coalescence and creaming using a scanning turbidity system. This reduces the time for viewing the stability of suspensions and emulsions from months or years, down to weeks or days, or even hours.

Versions of the LabExpert instrument are available which have temperature control and automatic sample changers. The instrument can even inform the user of the probable cause of instability, even if it is a complex cause, for example, coalescence and creaming.

Agrochemical Stability systems from RANK BROTHERS

Specialist systems for measuring the stability of Agrochemicals are available from Rank Brothers. These are dedicated systems using a special turbidity monitoring system with a flow-through cell, and is designed to monitor product for change in droplet size.
