Zero Stress Micro Rheology Analyser from FORMULACTION |
FORMULACTION has released the Rheolaser, the first commercial Micro Rheology system available in the world. The instrument uses the well researched Mean Square Deviation (MSD) method to invert data derived from Diffuse Wave Spectroscopy. Patented algorithms then convert the data to G' an G''. The advantage is that Rheological data can be gathered without applied force, which means the sample is not disturbed past its natural state. This in turn opens up the new worlds of Rheology Kinetics and Ageing Studies. G' and G'' can be displayed at a single frequency or across a range of frequencies. Relaxation time and Macroscopic Viscosity is also available, as is the potential for some stability data. Viscosity and Elasticity data at an "index" level is also available for QC and routine applications, so the instrument for the first time brings complex analyses within the range of QC laboratories. |

Interfacial Shear Rheometer from KSV Instruments |
The Interfacial Shear Rheometer (ISR) from KSV is able to characterise interfacial forces up to 100 times more sensitivly than older rotaru techniques. Using a magnetised needle whic floats on the interface, the movement in response to an aplied magnetic field is viewed by a camera and the raw data received is converted into rheological terms.
